New Student Life Story. Feb 28th, 2013 http://example.com/blog.php?d=13 This Month NSJOF bring you life story of orphan Chuol Thou Dar ##more##

Below is Chuol life story in his own words

I am by name Chuol Thou Dar, a South Sudanese by nationality. I am 16 years old boy living in Jonglei state South Sudan.  It was August 18th, 2011 when tribal clashes occurred in Pieri payam in Jonglei state and my parents were killed in that tragedy. It was a stressful moment for me to see my parents being killed in my eyes witnessed. After I lost my parents I remain traumatized and no one was taking care of me not until the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan went and took me with other orphans children and brought us to the Church compound where we are able to get something to eat and sleep within the compound.

It is a great opportunity and I am so delighted to the NSJOF for offering me this golden chance to take me back to school after stopping my education in Primary six (6) following a painful death of my parents in my eyes witnessed. I didn’t know that my life will be transformed but thank God and NSJOF for being there for me. I have a dream in future to be an engineer to help my country, community and other orphan children like me. Thank NSJOF and all the donors for substitute my parents and now I am born again by getting you to be my new parents on this planet.

New Sudan Jonglei Orphans Foundation Inc. (NSJOF) is so thankful to Peter Deng Express for it generosity this year again. Letter from the Founder http://example.com/blog.php?d=10 Dear donors and Supporters of NSJOF,

As the founder and president of this foundation, I wanted to take this moment to look at 2010 through 2012.##more##

In 2010, I started the foundation with $2,500 out of my pocket to help orphaned children go to school. Back then some of my friends from my native country of South Sudan thought this foundation was not going to succeed given that I was still in the college at the time. In addition, not having enough money to run the foundation, so they tried to discourage me but they never succeeded. Three years later the foundation surpassed the notion that it wasn’t going to succeed. NSJOF managed to sponsor eight (8) students in which four (4) have graduated last year and four remain in the program.

Why was NSJOF so successful since its beginning?

As a former orphan child of South Sudan, who went through the life of being an orphan, faced a lot of hardships that no one can imagine, I came to believe that orphans are good kids like any other kids in this world and deserve to be treated nicely and given access to the education.  As a former orphan child, I wanted to change the lives of orphans in my native country of South Sudan. So I founded the NSJOF so that the people around the world can join their hands together and help orphans of South Sudan through NSJOF.  American brothers and sisters have together joined their hands and have supported the foundation since day one. This foundation has been so successful because of the great management and financial support from my generous American brothers and sisters (YOU).  Thank you for making NSJOF mission and vision come true.

After visiting South Sudan last year 2012, I am even more inspired to take the New Sudan Jonglei Orphans Foundation Inc. (NSJOF) further this year 2013. I would work hard to open up a main office and Education Center in Bortown in Jonglei State where our beneficiaries are from. This is going to be possible only with your support so I kindly need your great support in this year 2013 to make this vision of opening up a main office in BorTown, in Jonglei State come true.

With your continued advisory support, networking support and financial support, we will all manage to change the lives of the orphans in this New Nation, South Sudan.   Together we will give orphaned children access to education and other basic needs they need to thrive in their future.

Let’s change the lives of orphans in the world newest country. Click here and make your donation today online.  or mail your generous donation to NSJOF P.O.BOX 864 Burlington, VT 05402 USA

I warmly appreciated your support.

Happy New Year 2013 from Kampala, Uganda

Peter Garang Deng

Founder and President

Happy Christmas and New Year 2013 http://example.com/blog.php?d=9

Dear NSJOF Supporters and Fans

I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year 2013. ##more##

As I am sitting here in Africa looking at the work NSJOF has accomplished for the first three years, it is a blessing to see how the little work we have done in USA has made a big difference in the lives of the eight (8) orphans that we had help so far.

As we are coming to the end of 2012, I personally would like to thank you on the behalf of New Sudan Jonglei Orphans Foundation Inc. (NSJOF) for your ongoing commitment to the NSJOF cause.

Here at NSJOF, we are committed to change orphans lives by providing them with education just like any other kids. Orphans are being left behind in South Sudan and we are committed to change their lives and their surroundings. It is our mission to educate orphans so that they can later educate people in their own societies.

Providing education to the person who needed the most is something not easy but with your support, we were able to make a big difference in the lives of orphans in Jonglei State of South Sudan. Out of eight (8) students we have been sponsoring, four were graduated this December 2012. This is a great achievement for NSJOF. We were able to educate these students because of your financial support. Your donations is what bring us to this far.

We would like to let you know that NSJOF is on the process of registering with the government of South Sudan as the non-governmental organization providing education to orphans. After the registration, the foundation will then launch it initiative “Because I am an Orphan Child,” I needed your help. This will be launch in Jonglei State and USA.

Thank you so much for your continued support to the NSJOF cause.

Happy Christmas and New Year 2013

Peter Deng, Founder and President

NSJOF News in Africa http://example.com/blog.php?d=8 It is has been almost three weeks since I arrived to East Africa. ##more##  Lend on Uganda International Airport on November 25 and I was warmely received by NSJOF Project Manager, the Field Coordinator, the Camera crew and most importantly the two NSJOF students Akech and Akur who are currently studying in Kampala, Uganda. It was a great day of my life.  One of the South Sudan government official living in Uganda was excited about the work of NSJOF and as a result, he allow NSJOF staff to borrow his supernice car for whole day.

Students were so excited and filled with joy for I have come to meet them face to face. They were more excited than anyone else. I spend two hours chatting with them then I was off to Kenya to meet another NSJOF students, John Ayor Ruben and my daughter Faith Nyalueth Garang for the first time.  It was all also great to see that we are helping brightest students.

You would have read a lot of NSJOF news from South Sudan by now if the internet access wasn't a problem. Internet access is a big problem here in South Sudan.

Happy Holidays: From Founder and President http://example.com/blog.php?d=6 December 24, 2011

Dear Friends

First let all your friends, relatives, colleagues, and co-workers know that it is not too late to make donation to the New Sudan Jonglei Orphans Foundation, Inc. (NSJOF) ##more## Now you know and that is good.

Allow me to take this pleasing moment to thank you all for being a great supporters of the New Sudan Jonglei Orphans Foundation, Inc. (NSJOF) in the year 2011.  I would like to thank those of you who have been supporting this foundation from the very beginning up to date and I want let to these folks know that NSJOF has been very successful for almost the past two years it has been in the world of nonprofit and that is because of your ongoing support. I am so thankful for your support.

In 2011, NSJOF managed to send seven orphaned children from Jonglei State of South Sudan to good boarding schools in neighborhood country Uganda. This was made possible because of your generous support.  In addition to the seven students already sponsored, we have just added another student to our program and this brings up the total of the students in our program to eight as we enter 2012.  We hope you will continue to support us as we continue to help orphaned children get education and other basic needs.  We hope you will find the way to support us if you are not doing that already.

Seriously, there is nothing more important than investing in another human life. When you helped a person who is in need of your help today you get a good feeling.  “You” feel so good of what you did and proud of yourself for being such a helpful person at your time.  We know you all know this but seriously making a donation on behalf of your love ones is a great way to show love to your love ones. You make them feel that you really care and that you are supporting good causes like this one of NSJOF on their behalf.

Again, it is not too late to make donation to NSJOF so act today.  Ready to help other human beings like visit NSJOF at http://nsjof.org/donatenow.php

Happy Holidays to you and your love ones

Peter Garang Deng

Founder and President, http://nsjof.org/

Yours

Sincerely,

NSJOF Chairman Robert Bob lost his Mother-Sad news http://example.com/blog.php?d=5 December 9, 2011

Dear Board Members

I would like to express my honest condolences on the recent passing of Bob’s mother. You and I send the prayers to his family at this difficult moment.##more##

Although I never meet Bob mother, the time I spent with Bob as my mentor at Champlain College and serving on my foundation and all other things that he have done to me so far. All this has shows me what kind of a family background he comes from and I can see his mother in him and how painful this loss is.

There is nothing in this world that is more painful than the loss of a relative

I lost my parents long time ago as you all know but it was not that long ago that I lost my closer cousin and a wife of my other closer cousin.  They passed way two weeks ago, so I have some of idea of what Bob, his family, and relatives are going through. It is painful, totally painful. Totally, no comfort in him, his family and relatives at this movement, there is no comfort that is quite enough to replace the loss, the loss like this. This is the loss that will never be replaced and I pray hard and ask you all to join me in prayer so that God can give Bob and his family a power of comfort in this difficult time.

Please Bob, pass our deepest sympathies on to your wife, your children, grandchild, and the rest of your relatives.

May Almighty lord rest your mother in peace.

Yours sincerely

Peter Garang Deng

NSJOF Founder and President

Too many Orphans in South Sudan http://example.com/blog.php?d=4 March 11, 2010

Why Many Orphans in South Sudan

Many people wonder as to why there are so many orphans in Sudan, particularly in Southern Sudan.##more## Well this has always been a simple question to answer by those who had live in South Sudan for good number of their life time but it is hard to get an answer for this question from those who haven't live there and experience what is like to be being in that war zone country. The 21 years civil war between North and Southern Sudan which has claimed an approximate of 2 million lives has leave the country with a great number of orphaned children that have no one to take care of them and provide them with their basic needs. Another cause of orphans in South Sudan, which is actually overlooked by some people around the world, is lack of health sectors. I mean there are not good hospitals in the country. In fact if you go to Dinka villages in Southern Sudan it is hard to see clinic build around. As a result to the lack of access to the basic health care people die prematurely from the diseases that cannot kill person in a developed world and with that the number of orphans keep increasing on yearly basis. These orphan who’s parents dead as a results of wars or parents dying prematurely, these kids are left behind with no one caring for them and they live a street life for they can't afford to go to school and become educated. We cannot afford to let these orphans suffer and that is why they are the focus of New Sudan Jonglei Orphans Foundation. It is hard for people to believe that when you educate an orphan child today he or she will also educate five to ten other orphans in future. It sound as if it is not true but it is.

What if? http://example.com/blog.php?d=3 September 17, 2010

By Tyler Classmate

I am thinking about how being a student could become an opportunity to be a catalyst for change. ##more## One of my classmates took great initiative in creating a mini enterprise to raise money to send a student in Sudan to school.  Not a number, not a good cause, but a friend.  I chatted briefly with him, and another friend about how development is so often viewed with a negative lens, I thought about how sometimes our education gets in the way of our learning about how to become people of change, people of love, and people of hope in a dark world.  I started to think about how it might be possible to think about our situation as students differently, we consider ourselves to be poor, when really we are the most privileged and resource rich people alive.  Sometimes we just don’t know it.  I bought a T-shirt, paid 20$, and realized that although I sometimes feel as if I don’t have a lot of money, I can’t afford not to invest in things that carry a glimmer of brilliance such as this. What would it look like if a bunch of students took ownership of our learning in a really unique way, thought of ways to save money, to slow down, to live a life of meaningful intentionality? I pay nearly 80$ a month to have a little piece of metal as an appendage that is constantly interrupting me, filling me with information that overwhelms, and bringing me into a world in which I am constantly available…and busy.
