Why Many Orphans in South Sudan

Many people wonder as to why there are so many orphans in Sudan, particularly in Southern Sudan. Well this has always been a simple question to answer by those who had live in South Sudan for good number of their life time but it is hard to get an answer for this question from those who haven't live there and experience what is like to be being in that war zone country. The 21 years civil war between North and Southern Sudan which has claimed an approximate of 2 million lives has leave the country with a great number of orphaned children that have no one to take care of them and provide them with their basic needs. Another cause of orphans in South Sudan, which is actually overlooked by some people around the world, is lack of health sectors. I mean there are not good hospitals in the country. In fact if you go to Dinka villages in Southern Sudan it is hard to see clinic build around. As a result to the lack of access to the basic health care people die prematurely from the diseases that cannot kill person in a developed world and with that the number of orphans keep increasing on yearly basis. These orphan who’s parents dead as a results of wars or parents dying prematurely, these kids are left behind with no one caring for them and they live a street life for they can't afford to go to school and become educated. We cannot afford to let these orphans suffer and that is why they are the focus of New Sudan Jonglei Orphans Foundation. It is hard for people to believe that when you educate an orphan child today he or she will also educate five to ten other orphans in future. It sound as if it is not true but it is.
